Over the last few months, we have shown you all we can offer from Bürkert's enormous range of flow, level, and pressure measuring devices.

Following our last blog on pressure measuring devices, we would now like to talk about the last in our series from BÜRKERT's Level Measurement Devices and take a look at Temperature Sensor, Controllers/Transmitters.

This intelligent threshold detector/transmitter with an extra large display is specifically designed to monitor limit values or an ON/OFF or continuous control loop. Two versions are available: the 8400 Compact and 8400 for wall mounting. The wall-mounted version must be inserted into a holder previously mounted on a wall, and it must be associated with a remote temperature sensor. The switching points can be programmed with keys directly in the display or optionally with a 4...20 mA standard signal input from an external PLC. As an option, the process value can additionally be transmitted to the PLC (with a 4...20 mA signal). The connection of the 8400 to the process in the piping is made using standard T-fittings with standard connections(G ½).

Flow transmitter/ pulse divider

  • Pluggable to flow sensor 8020, 8030 or 8070
  • Removable display unit

The electronic module Type 8022 operates either as a flow transmitter (only with sensors pulse "Low Power" version Type 8020, 8030, 8070) or as a pulse divider (with all versions of sensors of Type 8020, 8030, 8070). The module operates the output of the sensors, displays the flow value and converts it to the signal output in mA or pulse. In operation as a flow transmitter, the frequency signal of the sensor is converted in a 4 - 20 mA signal (2-wire operation). In operation as a pulse divider, the input frequency is converted into an adjustable output frequency. The use of the display unit allows the switching between the two modes.

Thanks to its compact design, the universal 8611 controller is especially designed for compact control system applications.It is compatible and tested with all Bürkert proportional valves and sensors and can be connected with every none-Bürkert Control valve by standard signal (4-20 mA, 0-10 V or PWM-output). The proportional & Integral (PI) process controller is equipped with many additional functions. The process value feedback can be supplied as one of three analog inputs; a standard signal (4-20 mA/0-10V), frequency or RTD signal; directly to the universal controller. The process switching points can be set via a 4-20 mA or 0-10 V signal or with the keypad For temperature specific control, it is possible to set a cascade structure with both temperature and flow as inputs. Thanks to the proportional control capabilities, a wide range of control functions can be performed in a variety of liquids and gas medias.

Type 8619 is the ideal device for measurement and control and as well dosing processes e.g. in applications of water treatment plants (like boiler, cooling tower or reverse osmosis systems) and food and pharma plants. Modularity in hardware and software offers high flexibility for adjusting it to the applications resulting in having a very good price to functionality relation. Sophisticated electronics and state of the art control algorithms ensure that optimum process control is maintained at all times with minimal operator intervention and achieving highest quality. Thanks to full support of the Modbus TCP, PROFINET (Conformance Class B) or EtherNet/IP, the 8619 can be integrated into most Industrial Ethernet environments. Therefore all important process values like measurement data, process diagnostics or device status can be easily integrated into the automation system.
